A Wife's Confession

Written from the prompt "It's not easy loving a loser like Johnny....," from https://wealthywritersclub.com/creative-writing-prompts/

It's not easy loving a loser like Johnny. He is very handsome and kind, but he can be, well, a handful. For starters, when he comes home from work, he always leaves his dirty, stinky clothes on the floor. Whenever I tell him to pick him up, he claims that he is too busy watching football. I always end up picking up his clothes. Total gag alert! Second of all, he snores like a 200 lb elephant. I used to wake up with bags under my eyes. Now when he snores, I just stuff one of our son's blocks into his mouth. Thirdly, every time he hears his favorite song in public, he breaks out in freaky dance moves. It is super embarrassing! I try to tell him to knock it off, but he is as stubborn as a mule. Lastly, he is so forgetful. Sometimes he forgets major important things, such as picking up our kids from school, or taking the chicken out of the fridge. Nevertheless, I still love my Johnny-poo. Sure, he's not perfect, but he is kind, funny, and makes the effort to be there for me and out kids. I wouldn't want to spend my life with anyone else.

St. Joachim and Anne Feast Day

Hola, guys! So today was the feast day of St. Joachim and Anne, the parents of the Virgin Mary. This morning, I was watching the Daily Mass, and the Homily was great. The priest was pointing out that each of us has been shaped by our upbringing. He explained that our parents and families helped us to become what we are today. Additionally, he shed light on the issue of families growing distant because of the constant use of technology.  I agree that we should try to toss the gadgets and enjoy each other's company, pretend it's 1994. It is not easy (I know I myself am shy about starting conversations), but it is part of the glue that keeps families together! πŸ™‚πŸ™‚πŸ™‚πŸ’“πŸ’“πŸ’“πŸ’“πŸ’“

No, You Can't Kill Me (2016)

This song is about anti-abortion. I believe that every unborn child has a right to life. Not that I don't sympathize with teen parents who want to finish school, but abortion is NOT the only option. Besides, if teenagers decided to have unprotected sex, the child should NOT be punished for their poor choices.

Lyrics:

No you cannot kill me
Uh uh no no
No you cannot kill me
That would be low

If you could just look at me
And see that I'm a precious gift from God
You would not even think of doing something so wrong
You're making a big mistake
If you don't want me
Can't you at least look at other options?
Like adoption?

Chorus
No you cannot kill me
Uh uh no no
No you cannot kill me
That would be low
No you cannot kill me
No way, Jose!
No you cannot kill me
That's just cray-cray

Imagine all the things that I could be
I could be a president
I could be a celebrity
So if you even try to take my life
You will surely feel guilty
You know, everything is not about you
I wish you could get it into your head that I'm human, too.

(Chorus)

So do me a fave
Before you send me to the grave
Really think this over
Consider all the people who
Were told they can't have kids
And hey, if you really don't want me
Can't you at least put them in your heart?

(Chorus-2x)

So back off, okay?

My Rap to End Bad Housing Conditions

This is a rap that I created last summer in order to persuade people to donate to my 1Mission campaign. I pledged my birthday in order to help 1Mission raise money for a certain family to receive assistance in building a better habitat for themselves. Unfortunately, I did not reach my goal (it was $8,000, by the way) because only one person donated (God bless that person!). I am considering trying it again this year. I am going to lower my goal amount, but hopefully more people donate this time!

Lyrics:

Hey y'alls, what's up, this is Lady Lordy
And I have something to tell you that's really important
Did ya know that not everyone is as lucky as us?
Now, according to 1Mission, in countries such as Mexico, El Salvador, and Nicaragua,
there are poor peeps living in bad housing conditions
So if making a difference is your flava,
Could you please do me a fava?
Click on the link on the description below
Eventually, you will be taken to my campaign page
When you get there, could ya please click the Donate button
And (wa-bam-bam) knock out some Benjamins!
Hey, hey, some Benjamins! (2x)
Hey, hey
That's all I have to say, so thank you for your time.
I will appreciate every dime.
Holla!

Your Loss (2016)

This song is about child neglect, and how I think it is uncool and it is the parents' loss for neglecting their kids and practicing favoritism. The circumstances in this song are fictional; I do not have a younger sister named Kaysie, and my parents did not neglect me (fortunately). Enjoy! If you want to sing along, the lyrics are below!

Lyrics:

Verse 1:
I come home after school
I wave and say, "Hi, Mom and Dad"
But you two just say nothing
Like I'm speaking another language
However when my younger sister
comes home you run to her
and greet her as if she's Princess Kate
You ask about her day
And she goes on and on
I start to talk about mine
And you're like "Nobody asked you"

Chorus:
Obviously you think I'm just garbage
What did I do to deserve this?
Well, if you think I'm just dirt
You do not deserve me at all
And I am not upset
Because it's just your loss

Verse 2:
You never even bother to
Show up to my plays
Or give me praise for my expertise
But you would miss work
Just to go to Kaysie's games
And you never do anything big for my birthday
But you would throw supersized parties for my sister

Chorus

Bridge:
I've had it up to here with you scumbags
Adios, I'm leaving this hovel of a house
I'm sure I'll find another family
Who will love me
And care for me
Oh

Chorus (2x)

It's just your loss
It's your loss
It's your loss

I like my religion teacher, Ms. Parris

Shucks, enough about me...what do you like?

An Ode to My Childhood

Childhood, thank you so much for being awesome!
Although you gave me hell on some days,
I still appreciate all the times you gave me happiness and joy.
I have a million things to thank you for,
But sadly, I can only use up to 1500 words.
So, here is a medium list (Short is an understatement).
Thanks a bunch for:
  • Providing me with VHS tapes and Blockbuster movies
  • The fun I had playing games on the MyScene, Barbie, Polly Pocket, and Disney Channel Websites
  • All the funny memories that I store inside my mind
My favorite one is of me pouring water into the chicken
That my mom was making for my sister.
  • The amazing TV shows that I got to enjoy, such as
Yakkity Yak, Kappa Mikey, Winx Club, and Oobi
  • The music videos that I had so much fun jamming to
BeyoncΓ©, Gwen Stefani, Avril Lavigne, Laurie Berkner
  • All the toys that I received
Barbies, Happy Meal dolls, jelly yo-yos, Slinkies
  • All the delicious food that I filled my tummy with
Kid Cuisine, Trix yogurt, Hot Pockets, pizza rolls, Fruit Roll-Ups, KFC
  • All the amazing books I got to read
Junie B. Jones, Cam Jansen, Mary-Kate and Ashley, The Babysitters Club
  • Giving me a great education,
although I did not take it seriously at the time
  • The friends that I had great times with
(I am still in touch with some of them)
Amy, Cassidy, Tara, Frank, Nikki, and Zukey
  • My family, and the good memories that I have with them
My favorites: Playing Super Mario World with my sister
And going to church in Times Square with Uncle Hughes
But most of all, thank you for all the love that I received
Although most of that love was tough love that resulted in me
Bawling my eyes out

Childhood, merci beaucoup.
Love,
Lordy Emmanuela “Lala” Agnes Belance

Childhood Memories Poem

1-year old me sitting pretty
In her white and blue dress
Her black hair in little braids
An adorable dimpled smile on her chubby-cheeked face
That will steal the hearts of many
Her chubby hands grasping a book
Titled Baby Daisy’s Walk, which has
A cute picture of Baby Daisy Duck in a stroller
And a blue bird
Golden jewelry rests on Lordy’s body
The background a soft blue

Seven-year old me all dressed up
For school picture day
I am modeling a red skirt and a matching
Shirt with the word “Girls” inscribed in black
My hair (longer this time) in two braids
With red barrettes, an innocent
Look on my face, and a cute smile
My hands are in my pockets

The background appears to be a
Treehouse with a balcony

In my 3rd grade class picture
I am sitting in the front row
Sandwiched between Samantha Jakuboski and Nicola Nanco
My hair is in- you guessed it- braids!
Glasses resting on my eyes and a toothed smile on my face
This time I am sporting the uniform white blouse and plaid jumper
Plus fancy pantyhose
Legs together and hands folded

Like the pretty little lady I was (and I’m still a pretty lady!)
